A Brief Intro
In 2010, after many years working across the UK on scores of prestigious projects, initially as a Bricklayer but rising through the ranks to Contracts Manager level, Paul Martin, made the leap and founded Blou. Just a handful of months later, a similar event occurred, John James, a key component of an existing, leading Carpentry & Joinery Contractor, joined the fold, officially beginning the now-famous partnership.
Since their inception, Blou has established themselves as one of the leading Contractors in the construction industry, working in collaboration with the most well-established Main Contractors. During that time, Blou’s diverse workforce has increased to approximately 300 individuals – Designer, Manufacturers, Installers, and Maintainers.
Operating from their City of London HQ, Blou has featured on projects located on almost every Street, Road, Mews, Place, Gardens, and Square across the Capital, and further afield to Birmingham, Bristol, Brighton, Cambridge, Dover, York, and beyond. Blou’s unique structure, reliability, and passion for providing an optimum product and superior service, second to none in the industry, has resulted in repeat business and an ever-expanding client base.
Brickwork and Carpentry & Joinery?
Over the years, this partnership of Brickwork and Carpentry & Joinery has caused some confusion amongst heads in the Construction Industry – two wholly different trades being offered by one company, how?
Simple, Blou is effectively a collection of two companies operating under one name, two entirely separate, highly experienced and qualified Management and Specialist Site Operative teams, who share only one thing – a vision to de-complicate the conventional Construction Company by offering an efficient, all-encompassing service from Pre-Construction through to Completion.
The Future
Blou places a high emphasis on developing young talent for incorporation into our expert team, this requires time, expertise, and investment. In the last 10 years to 2020, Blou has invested close to £1million to create a platform that allows them to work with young people, helping them to understand their potential and offering them the opportunity to fulfill that potential within Blou – that platform is known as The Blou Construction Training Academy.
“Blou’s aim is to build a team of experts within their respective specialist positions, a team equipped with a passion for maintaining the UK’s position as a global leader in Construction, a team to preserve our exquisite heritage buildings and develop our ever-growing modern landscape.”
